The Radiance of Statue of Liberty

Written by: Sandeep Sinha - Scientific Poet of the 21st Century

The United States of America is a nation of people having liberty to express, practice any religion, live according to their beliefs, and nurture love among fellow human beings. As a symbol of this freedom gifted to every human being by the Almighty, the Statue of Liberty was gifted by the people of France to the Americans in 1886.

Statue of Liberty is a sculpture placed on the Liberty Island in New York City. The sculpture is that of the Roman Goddess of Freedom known as Libertas. In the right hand, she bears a glowing torch proclaiming the spirit of freedom to the Americans and to the people around the world. In the left hand, she carries a book with the cover page having the date, July 4, 1776, which is the date of the American Declaration of Independence. The crown on her head shows her majesty.

The Statue of Liberty is an important tourist attraction as people visit the monument throughout the year. The statue may be sometimes closed to the public when it is being maintained or when security reasons demand its temporary closure to the public. It is advisable to check with the respective tour operators or the office of administration of the Statue of Liberty.

The boldness of liberty is explicitly depicted through the Statue of Liberty. If you like to observe the details and ponder over the messages expressed through various parts of the statue, then you will fall in love with the simplicity of the overall sculpture, which shows the dedication of artists and workers who had enabled the fulfillment of a dream to radiate the message of liberty through this masterpiece.
